GO AHEAD… ASK

I have heard and read many times that God HAS to do whatever "YOU" ask of Him. Let me assert... God does not have to do anything. Oh He is true to His Word alright. But one must read the rest of His Word. There are major requirements from us before God starts "lavishing" upon us.

I will never be the one who quotes John 15:7-8 to you…
"If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ASK WHAT YE WILL, and IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU. Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be My disciples"
… and tells you, "See, you can ask for whatever you want and God must give it to you". I will be the one who says…"IF you abide in Him, and IF His Words abide in you"... you will bear much fruit.

Because IF you do ABIDE in Him and His Words in you, you will not be asking for lottery winnings, or a bigger/better stock portfolio, or even healing… you will instead find yourself asking, with sincere passion, that God's Will be accomplished in your life and in the world FIRST! And then, He will perfect His purpose in you. Because, you see... we are not more important than He. It is important to understand the perspective here.

What does abide mean? To "abide in Christ" means to remain in union with Christ, in essence... as ONE. Abide means LIVE and follow His example of a life obedient to the Word of God.
["To abide in Christ is, on the one hand, to have no known sin unjudged and unconfessed, no interest into which He is not brought, no life which He cannot share. On the other hand, the abiding one takes all burdens to Him, and draws all wisdom, life and strength from Him. It is not unceasing consciousness of these things and of Him… but that nothing is allowed in the life which separates from Him."] ~ Scofield

It means to live as Jesus lived not just in "deeds" ...but in experiencing the Divine.

The GOSPEL

"...that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures..." 1 COR. 15:3-4.

As defined by Paul, THE Gospel declares the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ according to the Scriptures. But surely that declaration doesn't explain the full Gospel message of the entire Word of God, which reveals Who the biblical God is (the Father), Who the biblical Christ is (God the Son), what the biblical problem between God and man is (sin), the biblical and only means of man's forgiveness by God (the cross and repentance), and the eternal consequences for those who reject the biblical Gospel (eternal separation from God, i.e., Lake of Fire). None of these is a peripheral point of doctrine (to the Gospel) to be ignored or compromised. To do so would be a departure from the faith into apostasy to proclaim a false gospel.

As AWESOME as that is, even more awesome (to me) is that Jesus Christ should do that for me!
