LUKEWARM AND LOVING IT

….a government OF the people, BY the people, and FOR the people. That was the beginning of the Laodicean “church” in the USA, and although the quote belongs to Abraham Lincoln, it was nonetheless instituted by “founding fathers” who put the will of the people above the Will of God.

We elect leaders by the people’s choice. But when a culture does not know it’s right from the left they will most likely choose wrong. The dominating church in the last days (read now, TODAY) is Laodicean, which means “peoples opinions”, or “people‘s justice”. Of course, by definition then, that leaves God out. What happens when the church does not know what is true or right and insists on "its own interpretation" to take place? Well, you get what we got today! What disappoints me (besides myself) is that those who might, or in fact, KNOW the difference are having virtually no impact, that I can discern. The END will not be delayed.

Corinthian Letter

Why is the letter to the Corinthian church important for us today?

Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians is a critical letter for us today in that we, the corporate church like the Corinthians, are carnal and worldly. Whereas we should be growing up into Christ (maturing), most have remained “babes” to the extent that we can’t even “walk” right yet as we should. After years of church attendance, Bible reading, conferences, and retreats... we still need the “milk” because we can’t handle the “meat.” Without the “meat” we do not grow strong. Behold the Man

In John 18 and 19 we read of Jesus’s arrest. Then He was sent to Caiaphas, then to Pilate who questioned Him and scourged Him. After that, Pilate brought Him out to the crowd and said, “Behold the Man!” John 19:5

Pilate was essentially saying, "Here is Jesus. He is not your Messiah, He is not your king, He is not God. He is just a man."
Let us consider the man... Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. Heb. 12:3. 

What joy could possibly be worth enduring the pain, torture and humiliation of crucifixion? Could it be that Jesus would be exalted above all else in Heaven and Earth? Or that He would be King of Israel... and the world? Wouldn't that be selfish and vain of Jesus? The joy set before Jesus was redeeming the human race and all of creation, for God so loved the world.

In The Beginning Was The Word

John 1:1, In the beginning... was the Word, and the Word was WITH God, and the Word was God.

This study begins with “the beginning” because it requires understanding. In the beginning is a vague and indistinct phrase. There is no definite place in time specified. We naturally think of Genesis 1:1 as the beginning of the time of creation. But in John 1:1, we should consider a “time” before creation, which was not a “time” in our sense of the word, but the eternity before time, or it could mean during the time of creation. In any case, the entire triune Godhead is outside of time but works within time as well. We are here introduced to a relationship before anything is created; the relationship of “the Word” to God.

Go And Cry Out To The gods You Have Chosen

Jeremiah 2:27-28 says, "They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Yet when they are in trouble, they say, 'Come and save us!' Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble!"

God warns His people of old, that if they persisted in looking to their false gods in the time of prosperity--that they would have none but their idols to assist them in the season of adversity. In the same way, in times of prosperity, the unsaved not only neglect God but despise Him as well! They cast off all fear of God and serve their idols, to the utter neglect of God.

THE DECLINE of CHRISTIANITY?

There is no decrease in the total idolatry of recreations, or the extravagant expenditure of money, or self-indulgence of all kinds. If this state of things is not a most unhealthy symptom in the condition of a Church, I know not what is! …The leading idea of many minds in this day appears to be, that it does not signify much what a man believes or teaches about what are commonly considered the principal verities of the Christian faith. A wave of extravagant liberalism in religion, as well as in everything else, is sweeping over England. Concerning the Trinity, the Divinity of Christ, the atonement, the Person and work of the Holy Spirit, conversion, justification, the inspiration of Scripture, the future state, and the like—it seems to be agreed that men may believe as much or as little as they please, and nobody is to find fault. The only question you are to ask is, whether a man is 'earnest, sincere, and zealous,' and if he is, you are not to ask anything more. It is thought very narrow and illiberal to say that any opinion in religion is false, or that anybody is unsound in the faith. Distinct and positive statements about anything in Christianity are thought downright uncharitable. All the old dogmas are to be held back, and never to be put forward in a solid, tangible state—or to be put forward in such a foggy, misty manner that, like a half-developed photographic plate, they are never to come out distinct, sharp, and clear. I challenge anyone who observes closely the pulpit utterances of this day, or reads speeches which touch religion, to deny the accuracy of what I have just said.] ~ (J. C. Ryle, "The Outlook" 1886).
