The Inevitable

So many people are nervous and apprehensive about the upcoming elections and, indeed, fearful of the collapse of this nation. Perhaps we should prepare for the inevitable!? 

Well, first we would have to recognize that which is inevitable.
Some people may accept the possibility of more than one inevitable event in their temporal lives and, indeed, there are. For me, there is only one inevitably certain (or certainly inevitable) event in my life.... death. Some people, knowing “time” is limited, focus on the present moment. Big mistake. “Time” is within the unseen reality of eternity. Time will end... death will not. You see... the soul was created eternal.  Death is basically a separation... the body from the soul, the soul from God.

Death is not just about pain or the decay in the grave. The eternal separation from God is what death is... “in the day that you eat of that tree (disobedience), you, Adam (man), will surely die.” Has anyone read in the Bible where Adam dropped dead from eating that which he was forbidden to eat? No. But Adam did lose everything that God gave him to have eternally. Adam was perfect and sinless until he “allowed” sin to enter himself and all of creation. Everything God had created he gave to Adam, and Adam corrupted it. That’s why there had to be a Redeemer... One ordained BEFORE creation. That’s why Rom. 8 says... “...the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now..." verses 19-22.

So, I think I will prepare for the inevitable.
