Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise keep calm until the end. Prov. 29:11
My (the apostle Paul) speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Cor. 2:4-8
Spiritual wisdom…the Wisdom of God… is not to be found in academia, “religious” or (especially) secular. Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Grace Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, The Church Divinity School of the Pacific (yeah…I want to go there. What a presumptuous name… aren‘t they all though) cannot “teach” anyone Spiritual Wisdom. Please don’t misunderstand. Wisdom comes from the Word of God… from STUDYING the Word of God, but the Teacher is the Holy Spirit. I do not view it as a learning process, in the intellectual sense, but rather by revelation. And that revelation is always SPIRITUAL!
You KNOW when something is revealed to you by the Holy Spirit that may have been previously “not seen” …and then, in a moment, you GET it. Well, you could show the same text, cross references, evidence, etc., to someone else and they may not “get” it at that point in time…believer or non-believer (although believers have a greater opportunity). The deep things of God will not be spiritually discerned by babes. They will be revealed in the STUDY of His Word and in Prayer. It’s called COMMUNION….ABIDING in Him….Walking in the Spirit.
My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
For if you cry for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding;
If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord
And discover the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright. Proverbs 2:1-7
That which God has revealed may be known by those that will seek the Truth.
The hidden things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law. Deut. 29:29
The Wisdom of God mentioned in the opening verses, 7 & 8... which was ordained before the ages... for OUR glory; and which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; that Wisdom was ordained to save and REDEEM man...that Wisdom was the RESURRECTION!
Spiritual Wisdom, for the believer's life is found in the mind of Christ….
1 Cor. 2:16b …we have the mind of Christ.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Spiritual Wisdom is found in Union with Christ…
Eph. 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all.
John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you.
Jesus the Christ was the embodiment, the incarnation of God the Son, Jehovah Yeshua.
I have waited for your Salvation, O LORD. Gen. 49:18
The word salvation there, and many other verses in the Old Testament, is Yeshua!
Aramaic, Y@shuw`ah…yesh-oo'-aw
Definition:
salvation, deliverance
Isaiah 12:2-3... Behold, God is my Salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my Salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of Salvation.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
Colossians 2:3 In Whom (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Colossians 1:15-19 (Jesus the Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
And He is the Head of the Body, the Church: Who is the Beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell;
Colossians 1:21-23 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: If (there’s that word again) ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister
Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
1 Cor. 2:9-16 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
