What is the Gospel?
The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek. Rom. 1:16
...and I am not ashamed.

The Apostle Paul says in 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures....
THIS! Is the Gospel!

“...according to the scriptures.” What scriptures does Paul reference in the above verses? There are many “prophecies” in the Old Testament of the coming King and Kingdom, but they note that He will suffer first... Isaiah chapters 52 and 53 prophecy of the suffering Servant, as do other scriptures. But Jesus never preached this gospel during His earthly ministry. How could He? It had not happened yet! And when He told His disciples what would happen, they understood none of it because it was hid from them. Luke 18:34.  Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are categorized as “the gospels” but nowhere in those four books, or even in Acts (until the ministry of Paul to the Gentiles) is the gospel of 1 Cor. 15 preached. If you find it, please tell me.

Let us not be dogmatic where the word of the Lord is concerned.
Many people say there is only one gospel and yet Rev. 14:6 says, Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel.
What is the “everlasting” gospel? That Jesus died, was buried, and rose again for our sins? Really? IN THE KINGDOM???

...and Matt. 4:23 says, Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom.
What was the gospel of the kingdom? That the KING IS HERE! ...ready to set up the Kingdom.

Gal. 1:8 says, But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
What is “any other” gospel? Paul warns of ANY “other” gospel other than what was revealed to him by the risen, glorified Lord Jesus in Arabia (Mt. Sinai) for 3 years, and preached by him to the Gentiles and whoever would “hear” it. In other words... a FALSE gospel.

So there we find three different mentions of three different gospels.

Beginning with John the Baptist, what IS preached in the “gospels” is the “Kingdom” to the Jews in fulfillment of covenant prophecy. For the Church today (Body of Christ) there is only one gospel unto salvation and baptism into the Body; and there is only one Grace, which revelation was given only to Paul, as even Peter attested to in 2 Peter 3:15-16, Account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
