I read Psalm 104 - again. It is an amazing
psalm to read and meditate on again and again, as well as all of the Word of
God.
We worship the Creator God of Psalm 104. The world does not
know the God of Psalm 104. Their god is the creature and not the Creator.
We are literally surrounded with the work of His Will,
by His Word and His Hands; ...a glorious picture of God as Creator and a
sweeping view of the world God made. Nothing anywhere is untouched by His creation
and wisdom. Because He wants us to see and take pleasure in Him, He not only creates,
but He speaks through His creation.
Rom. 1:19-20 says, What may be
known of God is clearly seen, for God has made it evident. For since the
creation of the world His invisible attributes are seen and understood
by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they
are without excuse.
Science will not take God at His word, though, when He says the stars are “innumerable.” They say... "Using the Milky Way as our model, we can multiply the number of stars in our galaxy (100 billion they say?) by the number of galaxies in the universe (2 trillion they say?) to arrive at the absolutely astounding number of 1025."
I don’t understand their hypotheses, but that’s a one followed by 25 0’s... I think? Even then, they admit, it is an approximation!
Put another way, the stars are INUMMERABLE!
2 Cor. 10:12 says... But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
A.W. Tozer said, “The modern scientist has lost God, amid the wonders of His world.”
Isn’t that a wondrous truth? Scientists can SEE the invisible God in His wonders of creation but “they will not glorify Him as God; they become vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts (are) darkened.” Professing themselves to be wise, they (become) fools.” Rom. 1:21-22
Psalm 147:4 says... He determines the number of the stars; He gives all of them their names.
He gives them names! And He has numbered the very hairs on our heads! Luke 12:7
He knows and cares for each and every thing in His creation... Most of all... us.
When clouds crawl across the sky and over our heads, they should draw our attention into heaven and stretch our vision far beyond them, into the faithfulness of the Lord.
Psalm 36:5 says, Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
When we see a mountain in the distance, or drive through them, we should see enormous shadows of the majesty of God.
Psalm 76:4 says, You are more glorious and majestic than the mountains.
When we hear the rush of a river or stream, it should inspire us to drink more deeply from all that God is for us in Christ, the well who quenches every thirst forever.
Psalm 36:8 says, They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
But we see just how broken this world is; how far it has strayed from its Creator. The wondrous creation is enslaved to futility, in bondage to corruption. It is magnificent as it is, but it is nowhere near what it should be. Nowhere near what it once was. We live in the devastation of what was paradise. And the catastrophic reason for the difference between what was and what is... .......is sin.
But praise be to God... Proverbs 8:22-31
The Lord possessed Me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the beginning of the dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep, when He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters, would not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him, rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the sons of men.
The Creator submitted Himself to death by sinful men, to redeem sinful men by taking on Himself the sins of man.
Oh Lord, You are daily our delight also. We rejoice in You because You have redeemed us and all of creation for our Father. Oh God our Father, You are more Glorious and Majestic than the whole of all You have created. We see You in the sunrise; we see You in the daffodils; we see you in the thunderstorms; we see You in the snowflake; we see You in the myriad of living things; we see You in Jesus our Lord. We would see Jesus in each other. Bless us O Lord, to manifest Him as He manifested You. In His Majestic Name, Amen.
