MERRY CHRISTMAS - Part 4

So, what is wrong
with Christmas?
Christmas belongs to the world. Christ belongs to Heaven.

PICK ONE!

To say that Jesus was born on December 25th is a lie! An error at best. The accepted belief is that the true date is sometime in September according to the hints of Scriptures.
And... The Lord never spoke of commemorating his birth. There is an inherent idolatry in celebrating or worshiping a "baby" Jesus. But He rather commanded us to remember the sacrifice of His suffering and death, which purchased our salvation.

Think about it! Can we worship and honor God by involving ourselves with customs and traditions, which God Himself condemns as idolatrous? Can we convince God to somehow "sanctify" (perhaps with "holy" water?) these customs and the whole pretense and lie of Christmas - so we can enjoy ourselves? Do we ask God to compromise His Word? Do we dare say, "Lighten up"? Can we obey through anarchy? Is your "religion" offended… by the truth? Well perhaps you are on the wrong side of the truth?

The date of December 25th originated with the ancient "birthday" of the sun-god, Sol (or the Persian Mithras), a pagan deity whose religious influence became widespread in the Roman Empire during the first few centuries A.D. Sol was related to the Semitic sun-god, Shamash, and his worship spread throughout Asia to Europe where he was called "Deus Sol Invictus Mithras" - (the invincible sun-god Mithras).

Rome was well-known for absorbing the pagan religions and rituals of its widespread empire. As such, Rome converted this pagan legacy to a celebration of the god, Saturn, and the rebirth of the sun god during the winter solstice period. The winter holiday became known as Saturnalia and began the week prior to December 25th. The festival was characterized by gift-giving, feasting, singing and downright debauchery, as the priests of Saturn carried wreaths of evergreen boughs in procession throughout the Roman temples.

In the 4th century A.D., Rome imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it. Future Christian leaders succeeded in "converting" to Christianity large numbers of pagans by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians. The problem was that there was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia. To remedy this, these "Christian leaders" named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus’ birthday. And the preceding weeks we call Advent.

Many of the most popular Christmas customs, including Christmas trees, mistletoe, Christmas presents, and Santa Claus are modern incarnations of the most depraved pagan rituals ever practiced on Earth.

Today, the same formula its being used when it comes to repackaging pagan practices and doctrines by just renaming them and giving them a “Christian” name.  For instance, rock & roll music; So called Christian leaders believe a worldly or pagan person can join a Christian church with out having to leave their worldly rock & roll behind, because they can find rock & roll in the church too, “Christian rock & roll” that is! This is now offered by so called Christian churches today, supposedly to attract and convert the worldly.

The list goes on and on, from rock, to “Christian rock” (see Brian Welch of the metal rock band KORN on CBN), from yoga, to “Christian yoga”, from porn, to “Christian porn”; That’s right… They now even have porn with the name “Christian” before it. These are a few of many traps laid to the un-discerning, designed to lead him into the wrong path, the one that does not lead to heaven, but to death & destruction.

Some of the most depraved customs of the Saturnalia carnival were intentionally revived by the catholic church in 1466 when pope paul II, for the amusement of his Roman citizens, forced Jews to race naked through the streets of the city. An eyewitness account reports, “Before they were to run, the Jews were richly fed, so as to make the race more difficult for them and at the same time more amusing for spectators. They ran… amid Rome’s taunting shrieks and peals of laughter, while the “holy father” stood upon a richly ornamented balcony and laughed heartily”.

As part of the Saturnalia carnival throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, rabbis of the ghetto in Rome were forced to wear clownish outfits and march through the city streets to the jeers of the crowd, pelted by a variety of missiles. When the Jewish community of Rome sent a petition in 1836 to pope gregory XVI begging him to stop the annual Saturnalia abuse of the Jewish community, he responded, “It is not opportune to make any innovation” (David I. Kertzer, The Popes Against the Jews: The Vatican’s Role in the Rise of Modern Anti-Semitism, New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 2001, p. 33).

On December 25, 1881, “Christian” leaders whipped the Polish masses into Anti-Semitic frenzies that led to riots across the country. In Warsaw 12 Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth of property was destroyed.

Stephen Nissenbaum, professor of history at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, writes, “In return for ensuring massive observance of the anniversary of the Savior’s birth by assigning it to this resonant date, the Church for its part tacitly agreed to allow the holiday to be celebrated more or less the way it had always been”. The earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated by drinking, sexual indulgence, singing naked in the streets (a precursor of modern caroling), etc.

Child Sacrifice
This horrible practice was associated with the worship of the fire god (Nimrod, Saturn, Kronos, Molech and Baal). It was believed he who approached the fire would receive a light from divinity” and “through divine fire all the stains produced by generations could be purged away.” Therefore, children were made to pass through the fire unto Molech (Jer. 32:35). As incredible as it seems, deceived human beings actually believed they were pleasing their “god” by sacrificing their own innocent little children to him. They believed fire purified them from original sin. The pagan catholic doctrine of spending time in purgatory to purge the soul from all sin derives from this belief! Are you (in a way) sacrificing your children in a pagan ritual to a pagan god?

One should research Nimrod, Nicholas, Nicolaitans and especially Saturn.

Variations of this pagan holiday, Saturnalia, flourished throughout the first few centuries after Jesus Christ, but it probably wasn't until 336 AD that Emperor Constantine officially converted this pagan tradition into the "Christian" holiday of Christmas. Most of what we witness on December 25th each year has absolutely nothing to do with that blessed day, which probably occurred in early fall about 2,000 years ago. In fact, most of the customs and traditions of Christmas actually pre-date the birth of Jesus, and many of them are insidiously deceptive in their meaning and origin.

Because of its known pagan origin, Christmas was banned by the Puritans and its observance was illegal in Massachusetts between 1659 and 1681. However, Christmas was and still is celebrated by most Christians.

Many who are excitedly preparing for their Christmas celebrations would prefer not knowing about the holiday’s real significance. If they do know the history, they often object that their celebration has nothing to do with the holiday’s monstrous history and meaning.
“We are just having fun.”

In short, the Christmas holiday we celebrate today is indicative of Christianity's willingness to absorb the world's customs and traditions. I, for one, have no problem removing Christ from any association with this pagan, worldly carnival of a holiday. So, do you want to disassociate with paganism?… Merry Xmas, or you don't care?… Merry Christmas… it's just words, right?

Have a Happy whateverdoesntoffendyou!
